Bovril Great Outdoors Revival Campaign |
||||
I don't know if anyone saw the item in the Chronicle recently about Bovril being willing to donate £20k (AND labour) to revamping community areas including allotments. Anyway it said:
They've already got nominations in from allotment sites in Manchester & Macclesfield. The first sounds like someone wanting help clearing their own allotment (!) & the latter is a scheme for adults with mental and physical disabilities, has been running for 13 years & require £600 for a replacement polytunnel. There's only 4 REAL entries from the North East region - others that appear under that heading are misplaced ie Chesterfield & Market Weighton!
There's clear categories: camping, angling, rambling [to coincide with their partners in the scheme] and other - we'd go into other if we could think of a suitable project that will benefit a reasonable amount of people & the wider community. Also they say they'd prefer to fully fund a project rather than part-fund. Don't know if anyone thinks this of any use or can come up with any projects/ ideas.
It would appear that a jar of bovril needs to be purchased (what a surprise) to get a code to be able to enter project details & entries close on 28th Feb 2010 so decisions will have to be made before the Feb AWG meeting as it needs to be online quick enough to be able to register votes for when it comes to the counting! Obviously it would need to be a controlled campaign for 1 project rather than having several people nominating the same project as votes would be split. There are only 5 winners which share £100k so it would probably need to be of a reasonable size etc. Also it needs to be online quick enough to be able to register votes for when it comes to the counting!
Over to you lot! |
